PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an overall torque in a brushless motor by eliminating the deviation between the peak of Fleming's torque and that of reluctance torque. SOLUTION: A brushless motor has a rotor 1 containing first permanent magnets 3 and slits 1a and a stator 6 which is arranged on the outer periphery of the rotor 1 and in which stator windings 7 are wound around teeth 8 for supplying driving forces to the rotor 1. The rotor l is made of a material having high magnetic permeability and constituted in such a way that the magnetic reluctance of the rotor 1 on a q-axis is set differently from that on a d-axis, with the q-axis being the straight line connecting the center of rotation and outer peripheral surface of the rotor 1 and the d-axis being the straight line which passes the center of rotation electrically perpendicularly to the q-axis. In addition, the centers of the first permanent magnets 3 are positioned in the areas surrounded by the Q- and d-axes on the outer peripheral surface of the rotor 1.
