PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrophotographic color toner having good stable developing performance even in agitation over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The color toner consists of a matrix toner consisting essentially of a bonding resin, a colorant and an electrostatic charge controlling agent and an additive. The volume average particle diameter of the matrix toner is 6.5-9.5μm, the matrix toner contains 2-15% by number of particles having <=5μm and the ratio of the volume average particle diameter to the number average particle diameter is 1.15-1.25.
