PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device drive method surely and suitably performing the switching when various data types are applied. SOLUTION: Either data pulse of a set of data pulses containing the data types 40, 42 is applied to respective column electrodes, and on the other hand, a row electrode is divided to plural pairs, and a regular stroboscopic pulse 44 is applied to one side row electrode, and a reverse stroboscopic pulse 46 is applied to another side row electrode in order for respective pairs, and further, when at least the data types 40, 42 are applied, a compensation pulse 56 is applied to a pixel so that the synthetic waveform 48, 60 each other of the switching and the synthetic waveform 50, 58 each other of the non-switching are nearly the same or at least similar.
