摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for re-setting encipherment's presence informa tion by a message from an optical line termination OLT at application of a power supply for an optical node termination ONT whose power supply can freely be controlled by a subscriber. SOLUTION: The ciphering controller 101 is provided with an encryption control section 102 that reads presence of a cipher in an ATM path sent from an OLT 1, a flash memory 103 that is connected to the ciphering control section 102 and reads/writes contents of the ATM path, a data write section 104 that outputs data in the flash memory 103 by the encryption control section 102 and a CAM 105 that stores the data from the data write section 104 or the ciphering control section 102. Then at application of power of an ONT 2, the ciphering controller 101 sets encryption information of the ATM path again on the basis of the cipher presence information that has already been set.
