PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat-panel display capable of preventing a positional deviation at the time of sealing by a constitution which does not adopt a particular preventing structure when a flat-panel body (vacuum container) is formed and imparting no thermal damage to each member constituting the inside. SOLUTION: An enclosure 5 (vacuum container) is formed by providing an outer frame 4 at a gap between a rear plate 2 and a face plate 3 and sealing it. A heaped up portion 50 of a sealing member is arranged at a predetermined position regarding the outer frame 4 and the outer frame 4 is temporarily assembled and secured using an adhesive which is cured at a temperature lower than a temperature at which the heaped up portion 50 is softened. At this time, an assembled state is retained only for a short time until the adhesive is cured. Thereby, the outer frame 4 can be secured without causing a positional deviation. The outer frame 4 is accommodated in a chamber 52 (M) and a door 53 is closed and then an atmosphere is appropriately adjusted. The outer frame 4 is sealed by locally heating the heaped up portion 50 by a semiconductor laser 54. The sealed portion only reaches a high temperature and the inside is not exposed to a high temperature.
