PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the appearance of undulation which is not small in the frequency characteristic curve of a reproduction output in the use of a conven tional magnetic head. SOLUTION: The magnetic head is formed by making the gap formation surfaces 10 of a couple of magnetic core parts 1a, which are formed of ferrite single crystal and have specific ferromagnetic metal thin films 2a deposited on to the gap formation surfaces 10 of at least projection parts, abut against each other across a specific gap. In this case, a smaller angleθout of angles of intersection formed on the gap formation surfaces 10 of the recording medium slide surface 12 and magnetic core part 1a when the line 13 of intersection of the gap formation surfaces 10 and the sub-boundary 11 of the ferrite single crystal appearing on the gap formation surface 10 cross each other is set to 60 to 90 deg..
