PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable storage convenient even in any mode excepting for ordinary mode corresponding to the kind or contents of data by starting a second operating mode and preferentially referring to prescribed data stored in a second data storage device later. SOLUTION: A fixed data area 15 is generated at the time of transiting an HDD 14 into power saving mode and the fixed data area 15 holds data designated in advance. Because of the equipment using state of a degree transiting the HDD 14 into power saving mode, the presence of margin in a memory part 12 is estimated and as a cache part 13 or fixed data area 15, a wide area can be used. A control part 16 monitors and controls the HDD 14 or CPU 11. The operation of the control part 16 is managed by an OS and in the case of stopping the HDD 14 by transiting the HDD 14 into power saving mode or the like, prescribed data are previously transferred to the fixed data area 15 and stored in the memory 12. Thus, even when these data are referred to, it is not necessary to recover the HDD into ordinary mode.
