PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adapt the titled device to a wide-ranging subject condition and to suppress power consumption by allowing a control means to control a projection means to emit light during storing operation based on the periodical driving timing of an image sensor outputted from a driving circuit. SOLUTION: A CPU 15 temperature moves a focus lens 3 to an infinite position and sets the prescribed driving quantity of the lens 3, next. When the CPU 15 detects the rising pulse of a vertical synchronizing signal from a TG circuit 16, a counter is started and after the lapse of a prescribed time, the start of light emitting of a stroboscopic device 101 is instructed. The light emitting of the device 101 is executed within the electric charge storing time of a CCD 5. Namely, single electric charge storing of the CCD 5 is started at a very short fixed time after the rising pulse of an optional vertical synchronizing signal and finished with the falling pulse of the next vertical synchronizing signal. This prescribed time is set to meet a condition of starting the light emitting of the device 101 after starting storing of the electric charge of the CCD 5.
