The double door assembly comprises two profiles, each with a body part fittable against a head door end edge and a cover rib fitted crossways and bridging over the space between opposing door end edges. in each door end edge corner turned away from the cover rib of the corresponding profile an elongated first chamber (72,72') is formed. Each of the two doors (42,42') has a chamber (45,45') at the head end edge (44,44') limited by a limitation (46,46') and a further limitation (50,50') crossways on the door surface (48,48'). Each of the profiles (45,45') has a body part (52,52') fixed against the head end edge of the corresponding door. A sealing labyrinth is formed, comprising the small chambers (72,72') and the connected slot-shaped spaces (74,74'), the chambers (45,45'). the slots (76,76') and further chambers (67,67'). These slots, with a correct choice of materials used, and with the assembly closed, can have a height of only 0.5 mm. The whole results in an outstanding sound insulation.
