摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently set an optimum dividing line by retrieving shot candidate areas in order so as to be always less than the number of allowable shots. SOLUTION: The shot candidate areas are retrieved in order so as to be always less than the number of the allowable shots. In this method, the number of the allowable shots is inputted at an input step. A dividable line for dividing an electrode substrate into a group of plural polygons is set at a dividable line setting step. The electrode substrate is divided into the plural polygonal shot candidate areas less than the number of the allowable shots based on the set dividable line at a shot candidate area deviding step. A dividing line is set based on the divided shot candidate area at a dividing line setting step. For example, a liquid crystal display device to be used holds a liquid crystal layer between an array substrate and an opposed substrate, and this array substrate is formed of a chip 10, which is formed of the electrode substrate 400.</p>
