PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the use efficiency of a liquid crystal monitor by providing a switching means which switches an external video signal inputted from an external video signal input terminal and an internal video signal outputted from a video signal output means. SOLUTION: A mother board 120 in a notebook type personal computer is provided with a CPU 121 and a video card 122. Data of a text file or the like created by the CPU 121 are converted by the video card 122 into a video signal to be displayed on a liquid crystal monitor 110. A video signal outputted from a desktop personal computer is inputted through a monitor cable. A changeover switch 124 selectively switches the video signal outputted from the video card 122 and the signal inputted from an external video signal input terminal 123 through the operation of an operation button 125 and inputs it to the liquid crystal monitor 110 from the video signal output terminal 126 through a monitor cable 112. Thus, the video signal can selectively be displayed on the liquid crystal monitor 110.
