PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high brightness, a high efficiency and a long service life, in a direct current plasma display panel. SOLUTION: In this direct current plasma display panel 1-5 for executing a display by using luminescence of a phosphor excited by an ultraviolet ray emitted by discharge of enclosed gas, the gas is composed of at least gaseous nitrogen and at least one kind of rare gas, and as material of electrodes 2, 4 composing the panel, at least one kind is selected from the group of Ni, Ni alloys, Au, Ag, Pt, Cu, Co, Y2O3 and BaO.
