Date Nov. 21, 1996An entrance matting comprises an upper layer and a lower layer. The upper layer includes a plurality of spaced upstanding strips having slots therebetween. An upper surface of each strip defines transversely extending channels in communication with the slots. Strips of carpet are located in the slots such that the strips collectively define a substantially continuous tread surface. The lower layer defines a plurality of spaced slots intersecting the slots in the upper layer to permit water to drain therethrough.
