PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material which exhibits excellent image conservability, color developability, and chemical resistance and further, excellent manufacturing stability without generation of a texture fogging. SOLUTION: This thermal recording material has a thermal recording layer containing an electron donative colorless dye, an electron acceptive compound represented by the formula and a polyvinyl alcohol having at most 88% of degree of saponification. In the formula, X represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R1-R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group or the like; R4-R6 represent respectively a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group or the like; and R7 is a hydrogen atom or the like. |
