PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lightweight molded article having good surface properties and good physical properties from an inorganic hydraulic composition free from asbestos. SOLUTION: This method for producing an inorganic lightweight molded article comprises adding and mixing water with an inorganic hydraulic composition, molding the mixture and then curing the molded article. The inorganic hydraulic composition comprises an inorganic hydraulic material, a fibrous material, thermoplastic resin foamed particles having a foamed ratio of 10-100 times and particle diameters of 10-800μm, and further an inorganic lightweight aggregate which contains 20-50 wt.% of aluminum trioxide component and has a pressure-resistant strength of >=8 MPa and a specific gravity of <=1.0.
