PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the catalytic activity of a Pd carried mordenite catalyst for the removal of NOx in NOx-containing exhaust gas. SOLUTION: Salts of one or more metals selected from Al, Ni, Ag, Zn, Mn, W, Ga, Mo, Cr, In and Sn arc impregnated and carried on H type mordenite and Pd is carried on the metallic salt-containing H type mordenite to obtain the objective catalyst for the purification of NOx-containing exhaust gas containing oxygen in the presence of a hydrocarbon reducer. |
