PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a joint body and the weight of the same to thereby facilitate handling a water intake gutter joint by horizontally forming a water collecting groove in the water intake gutter joint. SOLUTION: A short pipe 22 having a flange 1c at a lower portion thereof is arranged at an internal central portion of a joint body 12 constituted of a vertical pipe having its upper and lower end opened. The short pipe 22 allows its periphery to function as a water collecting groove 32 which is connected to a water intake pipe 42. At this time, the water collecting groove 32 is horizontally formed, and the vertical length of the joint body 12 is shortened. Further, the water intake pipe 42 is rendered detachable from the joint body 12, which facilitates cleaning for removing dirt accumulated in the joint body 12. Still further, the water intake gutter joint is connected to an intermediate portion of a down pipe connected to an eaves gutter. A water intake pipe of the water intake gutter joint is connected to an upper end of a connecting conduit, and a lower end of the same is connected to a water storage tank, to thereby constitute a water collecting system. Thus, handling and cleaning of the water intake gutter joint are facilitated, and rainwater flowing through the down pipe can be taken in and introduced into the water storage tank.
