PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved junction/branch device by distributing N channels among M routes, filtering M routes through the use of P junction/ branch filters and reconnecting M filtered transmission routes. SOLUTION: This junction/branch device 10 receives an N channel WDM signal from a transmission fiber 9A and a 1xM demultiplexer 11 for distributing N-channels is contained between M routes 12. (M and N are integers, M<N, N/M=P and P is an integer). The respective roues contain P joint/branch filters, one channel Aij is added to each filter 13 and it can branch one channel Dij. The filtered route is reconnected in an Mx1 multiplier 14 for transmitting the signal in the next segment of a transmission fiber 9B. The junction/branch filters 13 separate branch from input. |
