PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a luffing jib from being reassembled due to failed communication cable connection between the front end and the base end of the luffing jib, in a communication device for crane with the luffing jib. SOLUTION: A transmitter receiver 5a disposed on the base end side of a luffing jib is provided with a discriminating means 15 discriminating that it has received its own transmission signal. In the case of no connection of a jib stage to be connected, dummy connectors 7c, 7c, 8c, 9c, 10c, 11c connecting its 2-circuit to connectors 7a, 7b, 8a, 9a, 10a, 11a disposed on the front side of the jib stage. In connecting the jib stage to be connected, the dummy connectors 7c, 7c, 8c, 9c, 10c, 11c are removed, and the connectors 7b, 8b, 9b, 10b, 11b of the jib stage to be connected are connected.
