PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make preventible a noise isolated at a part whose density is flat from being regarded as an edge and being emphasized corrected. SOLUTION: An edge judging part 20 sets an image area including an attentional pixel in the neighborhood of the attentional pixel and judges whether a pixel group included in the image area can be divided or not into a set of pixel groups having large density values and a set of pixel groups having small density values. Next, it judges whether the attentional pixel is included or not in the pixel groups having large density values when the pixel groups can be divided into the set of the pixel groups having large pixel values and the set of the pixel groups having small density values. When the attentional pixel is judged to be included in the pixel groups having large density values, an edge emphasizingly processing part 30 performs edge emphasizing correction of the density value of the attentional pixel.
