PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a releasing agent supply device capable of reducing the time and laber required for maintenance work such as the exchange of a filter or the exchange of releasing agent, and improving the economicity by making a working cycle longer. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a cartridge tank 3 constituted to be freely attached to/detached from a fixing device, reservoiring releasing agent L and storing the excessive releasing agent L recovered from the fixing device, and it is provided with a partition inside the tank 3 so as to partition the inside of the tank 3 into two upper and lower chambers. Then, the lower chamber is set as a supply chamber 12 for supplying the releasing agent L to the fixing device, while the upper chamber is set as a recovery chamber 11 for storing the releasing agent L recovered from the fixing device. The device is provided with a filter 10 on the partition between the chambers 12 and 11 and constituted so that the releasing agent L in the chamber 11 is made to flow to the chamber 12 while it is filtered, and it is provided with an emptiness detection means for discriminating the presence/absence of the releasing agent L in the chamber 12.
