The invention relates to an optical switching matrix arrangement, especially for optical communications and information networks, based on optical fibres. A number N of different optical input channels can be connected to a number N of optical output channels in any given manner. According to the invention, prisms can be introduced into the optical path at the crossover points of the N collimated input bundle and the N collimated output bundle. These prisms then specifically guide the input end radiation onto an output fibre. The deflecting prisms are moved by means of an associated piezo-bend actuator.
