PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable optical head capable of executing recording, reproducing, etc., at the recording density higher than the recording density determined by the diffraction threshold and suppressing the heat generation of an evanescent light generating means and the deformation, etc., accompanying the same and an information reproducing device using the same. SOLUTION: This optical head has the constitution obtained by providing the circumference of a micro-opening 104a for generating evanescent light from the light introduced by an optical path 102 for introducing the light from a light source 101 to a prescribed position with a cooling member 120. As a result, the evanescent light generating means which rises to a high temperature by irradiation with the light may be cooled and, therefore, the excessive heating of the evanescent light generating means does not occur any more and the reliability of the optical head may be improved. In addition, the reliability of the information recording device mounted with such optical head may be improved as well. |
