PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long arc tube made of an ELF(electroluminescence fiber) with sufficient performance such as strength, installing capability, water proofness, and quantity of light. SOLUTION: A light emitting tube 1 has an insulated electric wire 10 formed by covering a plurality of wires for supplying AC power with an insulating material; at least one piece of ELF 20 arranged in the surrounding of the insulated electric wire 20; and a practically transparent covering material 30 for covering the insulated electric wire 10 and the ELF 20. Since the light emitting tube 1 contains the electric wire for power supply, the dimension can be made long by connecting plurality of wires. For connecting, wires corresponding to the insulated electric wire 10, and an electrode of the ELF 20 and the wire are connected in the connecting part. Safety current less than allowable maximum current is supplied to the ELF of individual light emitting tube, and sufficient brightness can be ensured. |
