<p>A pile fabric having a pile length of 5 mm to 100 mm which is manufactured by knitting multifilaments having a single fiber finess of 3 to 30 denier and a total finess of 100 to 750 denier and having a twist frequency of 150/m or less, and preferably containing 50 wt % of a flat cross section fiber having a L/W (flat ratio) of the cross section thereof of 2 to 25. The pile fabric has a straightness of pile similar to that of natural mohair and provides a mohair-like pile fabric having a good balance of soft touch feeling and strength of a pile, and can be obtained with a reduced processing loss by employing a double stitch knitting texture in the knitting step mentioned above.</p> |
