摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the mechanical strength of a sintered body, make a positive electrode thin, reduce the internal resistance of a battery and improve the shock resistance and cycle characteristic of the battery by forming a fiber- like reinforcing material with a metal or a ceramic which is not fused at the baking temperature when the sintered body is formed. SOLUTION: Metal fibers, ceramic fibers, metal whiskers or ceramic whiskers, which are not fused at the baking temperature, are preferably used for a fiber- like reinforcing material. The percentage content of the fiber-like reinforcing material in a sintered body is preferably set to 1-70 wt.%, particularly 5-30 wt.%. Mixed powder of a lithium compound converted into an oxide by a heat treatment, e.g. Li2CO3, and a transition metal compound, e.g. CoCO3, is calcined and crushed, a prescribed quantity of the fiber-like reinforcing material is dispersively mixed, and the mixture is molded and baked in the oxidation mixed there, preferably in the air atmosphere. The baking temperature is set to the range causing sufficient sintering, i.e., 700-1100 deg.C, and the baking period is preferably set to 0.5-24 hr.
