PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure security of communication data with a simple configuration by coding encrypted image data generated in the unit of pixels and encrypted data based on the encrypted data and transmitting the coded data. SOLUTION: A system control section 2 stores input binary image data to a RAM 4 once, reads encrypted data that are captured by one pixel each and with pixels corresponding to captured pixel positions from a ROM 3, and stores a value obtained through exclusive OR to the RAM 4 as pixel data at the position corresponding to the encrypted image data. When the processing by one page is finished, prescribed various communication parameters are set based on the G3 facsimile protocol, reads the generated encrypted data from the RAM 4, the data are coded in a prescribed coding mode and the coded data are transmitted to a receiver side and the processing above is repeated until the transmission of all the data is finished. The receiver side applies prescribed reception procedure to the data so as to convert the data whose meaning is not clear without using the transmitter.
