PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability and to make a size smaller and weight lighter by providing the disk cartridge with an engaging part disposed forward in an insertion direction, a groove which intersects orthogonally with the surface of a recording medium and is formed from the rear end of the insertion direction on the side wall parallel to the insertion direction, a recessed part which is formed by changing the depth of the groove at the rear end part in the insertion direction of the groove and a recessed part which is formed by changing the depth of the groove in the groove spatially from the recessed part. SOLUTION: When a disk cartridge 100 is inserted into the opening of a jacket, the projecting part 233 of a locking member 230 is pressed to the recessed part 115 of the disk cartridge 100. The recessed part 115 has a slope for chamfering the corner part of the disk cartridge 100 and elastically deforms an elastic arm part in a direction where the projecting part 233 escapes. A rectilinear arm part 232b and a contact surface intrude through an aperture 209 formed by notches 211 and 221 into the opening 241 of a slide member 240 and successively slides on the surface of the recessed part 115 and the surface of the groove 116. The elastic arm part is elastically restored and the projecting part 233 fits into a recessed part 117.
