TAPE REEL AND MAGNETIC TAPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape reel and magnetic tape capable of suppressing drop-out and output fluctuation and prohibiting the disturbance in winding. SOLUTION: The tape reel 10 is constituted by respectively providing the top and bottom ends of a cylindrical hub 11 on which the magnetic tape 10 is wound with an upper flange 12 and a lower flange 13. The maximum value of the spacing from the upper flange 12 and the lower flange 13 to the end of the magnetic tape 20 is set at >=0.5 to <1.0 mm. The magnetic tape 10 is constituted by providing the one surface of a nonmagnetic base 21 with a magnetic layer 22 and the other surface with a back layer 23. The spacing U1+D1 from the upper flange 12 and the lower flange 13 in the state that the magnetic tape is wound around the tape reel 10 to the end of the back layer 23 is larger than the spacing U2+D2 from the upper flange 12 and the lower flange 13 to the end of the nonmagnetic base 21 or to the end of the magnetic layer 22.
