<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TV receiver which can eliminate the useless consumption of standby power and also can reduce the power consumption. SOLUTION: This TV receiver consists of a set value holding device 8 which holds the time that is set by a user, a timer counter 9 which counts the time when a TV set is set in a standby state by a turn-off operation of a power button of a remote controller 3 and a comparator 10 which compares the value of the counter 9 with the time held by the device 8 and outputs a signal to stop the supply of power to a power unit 7 and to stop the operation of the TV set when the coincidence is secured between those said value and time. The user previously sets the time on the device 8 to stop the operation of the TV set when the certain time elapses after the power button of the controller 3 is turned off. Thus, a main power switch of the TV set is automatically turned off when the set time elapses even if the user bailes to turn off the switch.</p> |
