PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for supporting an English sentence preparation so that even a person without ample knowledge of English grammar and words can prepare the English sentence of English expressions along the English grammar. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a dictionary retrieval part 2 for retrieving required data on the basis of input information from an input part 1 for supplying characters and the various kinds of instructions, a dictionary data base 3 and an English grammar table data base 4 storing the data required by the dictionary retrieval part and an output part 5 such as a display for outputting the result of performing retrieval in the dictionary retrieval part. The dictionary retrieval part is provided with the function of retrieving the dictionary data base on the basis of the word supplied from the input part, extracting related connectable words and phrases and displaying a list at the output part and the function of retrieving the English sentence table data base corresponding to the request of a user and extracting and displaying grammatical information relating to the words and phrases selected from the list of the displayed words and phrases. By viewing the connectable words and phrases and grammar information, a correct English sentence is prepared. |
