PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce occupied ratio of excess case or package in a simple structure and attain downsizing and weight reduction by mounting all necessary elements (LD, PD, WDM, APM) to one platform. SOLUTION: An Si platform 110 is slightly higher at its front part and slightly lower at its rear part. A light wave guide 114 is placed at a high step portion in a central line shape. The front end of the light guide 114 is exposed to the front end surface of a substrate 110. The rear end of the light guide 114 is exposed to a side surface of the step portion. A receiving PD chip 115 is fixed over a position on the way to the light guide 114. At just back of it, a tilting groove 116 is drilled. A filter 117 is inserted into this tilting groove 116. Light propagated from a station through an optical fiber travels through the light guide 114, is reflected on the filter 117, and goes into and received by a light receiving element 115. While, transmitted light generated by an LD 123 permeates through the filter 117, and goes out from the light guide 114 to the optical fiber. |
