PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an electrophotographic photoreceptor which prevents the crystallization of an electric charge transferring agent on the surface of an overcoat layer, favorably retains the electrical characteristics of the overcoat layer, prevents the occurrence of image defects, and improves a printed image. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor 11 comprises a photosensitive drum body 12, a photosensitive layer 13 formed on the surface of the photosensitive drum body 12 and an overcoat layer 14 formed on the photosensitive layer 13. The photosensitive layer 13 is formed by coating the surface of the photosensitive drum body 12 with a coating fluid prepared by dissolving or dispersing an electric charge generating agent, an electric charge transferring agent, a bonding resin or the like in a solvent. The overcoat layer 14 is formed by mixing a resin which protects the photosensitive layer 13 with a diluting solvent and applying the mixture. An ethanol-methanol mixed solvent is used as the diluting solvent and the ethanol content of the mixed solvent is preferably 30-50 wt.%.
