PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder capable of minimizing the emission of volatile gas from the components of the image recorder in heat developing, and its production method. SOLUTION: In this image recorder 10 where recording material A on which a latent image is formed is heated and heat-developed, volatile gas discharging processing is performed where the temperature is raised to heat developing temperature or more at least to a member using organic material out of various kinds of parts constituting the recorder 10 for the time long enough to vaporize the volatile gas. The volatile gas discharging processing is performed when the components made of organic material are produced or after the components made of the organic material are built into a variety of parts or before the recorder is shipped after the variety of parts are assembled in the recorder.
