INSERTION SYSTEM FOR ELECTRONIC WATERMARK DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly insert electronic watermark data into the MPEG (moving picture experts group) data without decoding nor encoding the MPEG data. SOLUTION: An MPEG data analyzer 102 inputs the MPEG data 101, detects an ESCAPE code out of the data 101, obtains the MPEG data information necessary for insertion an electronic watermark, outputs through the data 101 and outputs the position of a DCT coefficient following the ESCAPE code of the data 101 and the information 104 necessary for insertion of the electronic watermark data. When the DCT coefficient following the ESCAPE code is detected, a switch control signal 105 is turned on. An electronic watermark inserter 105 converts the DCT coefficient following the ESCAPE code contained in the MPEG data 103 into a DCT coefficient containing the electronic watermark data according to the position of the DCT coefficient following the ESCAPE code and the information 104 and outputs the MPEG data 107 containing the electronic watermark data.
