Heat treatment arrangement has a device for changing the flow direction formed as a segment ring (2) with centrally arranged suction supports (5) in contact with an aerator (6), and gas feed segments (3, 4). One of the gas feed segments is sealed from the treatment chamber and/or cooling chamber (1), and an effective connection between the (annular) chamber (7) and the suction support (5). A slotted hood (8) is arranged above the segment ring, where the number of slots is half the number of gas feed segments. Preferred Features: The segment ring and/or the hood can be rotated . There are 6, 8 or 10 gas feed segments. The arrangement is operated at 2, preferably 10 bar.
