The metal supporting structure has lateral struts (3,4) between vertical support mountings (1,2), held in place by sleeves (6,7) fixed by an adhesive bonding. An anaerobic setting Loctite (RTM) adhesive is applied to the ends (12) of the lateral struts (3,4) which, when hardened, gives a high tensile bond between the sleeves (6,7) and the struts (3,4). The complete assembly is a balustrade, which can be fitted to a wall (10).
