PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic candle having been compounded with various aromatic components without detriment to the combustibility and lighting power inherent in a conventional candle and being capable of retaining its aromaticity over a long period of time. SOLUTION: Provided is a candle composed of a fuel which is normally solid and is meltable at a high temperature and a wick capable of sucking up a molten fuel and assisting the fuel in stably burning to form a flame, wherein it is compounded with a perfume carrier prepared by allowing a porous substance based on silicon oxide to carry a perfume substance. It is desirable that the perfume carrier comprises a mesoporous powder having mesopores having substantially uniform openings and/or a macroporous powder having macropores having substantially uniform openings.
