PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent noise incident to the operation of an internal cleaning means while saving power consumption by controlling the cleaning means depending on the degree of ink particle generation thereby removing ink floating in a printer efficiently. SOLUTION: Every time when an ejection command is delivered from a head drive command section 223, an ejection ink measuring section 224 calculates the quantity of ink being ejected including an ejection recovery ink. Subsequently, an operating time determining section 225 determines the operating time of a fan 220 after ink ejection based on the quantity of ink being ejected measured at the ejection ink measuring section 224 and a set time on an operating time table 229. A control section 226 drives the fan 220 for the operating time thus determined to clean the inside of a printer and stops the fan 220 upon elapsing the operating time. According to the arrangement, ink floating in the printer can be removed efficiently and noise incident to the operation of an internal cleaning means can be prevented while saving power consumption. |
