PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce hosiery capable of preventing fine splits, having effects on athlete's foot and good in durability and to provide a method for producing the hosiery. SOLUTION: The hosiery 1 is designed to be worn with a knit stitch 4 as an inner surface and conversely a purl stitch as an outer surface in the hosiery 1 having a basic design of a plain stitch comprising a sole 10 such as a toe 9 and the heel 7 comprising the knit stitch 4 and the purl stitch. The hosiery 1 is produced by carrying out the tucked sewing with the knit stitch 4 as the outside when performing the linking sewing of the toe 9 and turning the hosiery 1 inside out after the sewing.
