PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily discharge the harmful gas, a combustible gas and the like generated in a hold to the atmosphere to protect crews from the harmful gas and the like. SOLUTION: An exhaust system 1 is demoutably mounted on a manhole 3 on an upper part of a hold needing the exhaust of gas. An explosion-proof fan 9 is installed in a case body 8 of the exhaust system 1 for sucking the gas in the hold by this fan 9. An exhaust cylinder 13 formed by a rising cylinder 13a, a starboard side exhaust cylinder part 13b and a port side exhaust cylinder part 13c is installed on the case body 8. A switching plate 15 is mounted in this exhaust cylinder 13 for switching this switching plate 15 corresponding to the wind direction. Whereby the gas is discharged to the atmosphere from the starboard side exhaust cylinder part 13b when the starboard side exhaust cylinder part 13 is on the lee, and the gas is discharged to the atmosphere from the port side exhaust cylinder part 13c when the port side exhaust cylinder part 13c is on the lee. The outside air is sucked into the case body 8 through an outside air intake port 10 to lower the concentration of the gas to be discharged to the atmosphere.
