PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooking container formed as a Chinese pot, that is the cooking container for directly heating and cooking food, capable of performing heating in any ways without the need of expensive inner surface coating and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: From hardened glass or a glass-ceramic material provided with an appropriate small linear thermal expansion coefficient, the Chinese pot of the cooking container is manufactured. As an example, the method of manufacturing it from the hardened glass is composed of each of the processes of preparing a preliminarily manufactured hardened glass material, heating the hardened glass material to the softening temperature immediately before a forming or molding process, forming or molding the plasticized hardened glass material to form the Chinese pot or the cooking container 1 preferably by deep drawing, a vacuum technique or a weight formation technique and cooling and refining the Chinese pot or the cooking container formed by the forming or molding process.
