PURPOSE: A compensation method for the output voltage of an inverter is provided to guarantee the input and output linearity within over modulation area by making a table of calculated non-linearity and compensating to the reference input value. The location, speed and torque are controlled by transforming direct current into the 3 phase alternative current power. CONSTITUTION: A compensation method for the output voltage of an inverter includes following steps. In the first step, the maximum value of the principle wave of reference output voltage. In the second step, the reference modulation index is acquired based upon the maximum value of the principle wave. In the third step, the compensation reference modulation index is acquired according to the categorized reference modulation index. Pulse width modulation(Min/Max PWM) is executed by using the compensation reference modulation index and generating a new input voltage command.
