PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide processes capable of reducing low molecular weight impurities and metal ion content at the same time. SOLUTION: A slurry containing an organic solvent and a polyarylene sulfide obtained by reacting p-DCB with Na2S.5H2O in the organic solvent is subjected to the following processes; a first process: the organic solvent included in the slurry is distilled off until the solid content becomes >=80 wt.%, a second process: an organic solvent and an inorganic acid or organic acid is added to the distilled residue and the system is homogenized, a third process: a solid component is obtained by solid-liquid separation and a forth process: the solid component is washed with water and dried. |
