PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a new compound excellent in compatibility with a binder resin, having a high charge mobility and suitable as a charge transporting agent for an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: A compound represented by formula X [R1 and R3 are each a (substituted)alkyl, a (substituted)aryl or the like; R2 and R4 are each H, a (substituted)alkyl or a (substituted)alkoxy, with the proviso that R2 and R4 are each H when the substituted positions of the R2 and R4 are the 4(para)- positions]. The above compound is produced by reacting (A) a formylated triphenylamine derivative represented by formula II used in a molar amount of 1.8-2.5 times based on (B) a bisphosphoric ester derivative represented by formula III with the component B in the presence of a base such as sodium methoxide in a solvent such as diethyl ether at a reactional temperature within the range of -10 to +25 deg.C for about 3-12 h.
