PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing ink jet printers whereby a filter with a filtration part sectioned for every ink inlet hole of a nozzle array can be easily formed and surely arranged. SOLUTION: A head base front half part 66 where a printing head of a printing head unit and sub tanks constituting an ink feed device are disposed is held upside down in a jig 90. A sub tank member 92 is formed of a thermoplastic material and a diaphragm part join face (diaphragm part leading end) 93 of each sub tank is formed projecting. A uniform thermoplastic filter sheet 87 of a multilayered mesh structure is placed to the join faces 93. An ultrasonic oscillation energy is applied while a horn 94 having a flat press face is butted and pressed to the filter sheet 87. The diaphragm part leading ends 93 and the other part than a part of the filter sheet 87 which becomes filtration parts 70 are melted and set. Thereafter, the head base front half part is separated from the jig 90, an extra part of the filter sheet 87 is removed, and the side of a supplied ink inlet hole of the printing head 67 is joined to a filter 69 secured to the join faces via a double-coated adhesive tape 91-2. |
