PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antiinflammatory agent that suppresses inflammatory cytokines by containing a hepatocyte growth factor (abbreviated to HGF). SOLUTION: This antiinflammatory agent includes HGF. This HGF originates from human, a recombinant HGF, and suppresses inflammatory cytokines manifesting in tissues, for example, IL-1, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL6, IL-8, IL-13, IL-16, IL-17, IL-1β, IL-1α, GM-CSF, TNF-α, TGF-β, EGF, FGF, PDGF, IFN-α, MCP-1, RANTES). The HGF is obtained by isolating a natural HGF from the body fluid or tissues of mammalians, for example, human, rat, or the like that have been known to have the HGF or from the cells producing HGF spontaneously. A daily dose of the HGF is 1μg/kg-10 mg/kg calculated as effective HGF.
