PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify closing work for a clearance between a crest tile and a pantile. SOLUTION: This adjustable rafter clearance provided with a spacer member forming part, in which a plurality of vertically freely extensible rafter clearance closing timbers 4, 4a... are arranged in parallel in the side part of a fixing part to a roof backing side positioned above the crest part of a roof backing below a crest tile, is mounted and fixed to the crest part and to the hip part before roofing the crest tile. The respective rafter clearance closing timbers 4, 4a,... are extended/shrunk independently of each other according to the upper face shape of a pantile, and their lower end parts are brought into contact with the upper face of the pantile so as to close a clearance between the crest tile and the pantile.
