PURPOSE: A method for beginning a heating operation of an air conditioner is provided to maintain a pleasant room temperature by differentiating initiating and releasing temperature of heating beginning operation according to turning on or off of a heating beginning key. CONSTITUTION: A method for beginning a heating operation of an air conditioner includes determining whether the air conditioner is operating for beginning the heating currently(S100), determining whether or not to release the beginning of the heating operation on the basis of a temperature for releasing the beginning of heating operation according to whether a heating beginning key is turned or not, if the air conditioner is in the operation for beginning the heating(S200), and determining whether or not to initialize the heating beginning operation on the basis of a temperature for initializing the heating beginning operation according to whether a heating beginning key is turned or not, if the air conditioner is not in the operation for beginning the heating(S300),
