PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of inferiority of appearance of a product, to lengthen a life of a felt and to improve productivity in a patterning process by a pressure dehydration press using the felt. SOLUTION: A method for pretreatment of a press felt 1 for a press process wherein a sheet body 4 from a hydraulic cement slurry is placed on a felt 1 and the surface is patterned by press dehydration by means of a press form 2 with joints 2A is provided. In this case, before the sheet body 4 is placed, the whole felt 1 is flattened by pressing it in advance by a larger pressure than a pressure applied on the joint part 1A of the press form of the felt.
